About the business

Oceana Aquatic & Fitness is Hobart’s leading health, fitness and aquatic business.

Optimum Health Solutions Tasmania, also operates out of Oceana and our team of exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, dieticians and physiotherapists work alongside our Oceana staff to provide Tasmania’s most comprehensive health & wellbeing solution.

We offer the  full range of traditional gym programs including small group training (Max of 10 participants), aqua aerobics, open gym & pool memberships and also health coaching.

Oceana is based on Hobart’s Eastern Shore at Mornington, but we service clients from all over Hobart.

About the role

The role is initially casual/part time with the opportunity to create a flexible roster to suit individual circumstances.

Initially the focus is on instructing small group training sessions, aqua aerobics classes, providing new member inductions and reviews, and some member retention/admin duties.

You may also deliver 1 to 1 Personal Training under supervision,  or if qualified to do so.

Our Fitness Director will provide you with ongoing professional development and supervision, including programming support for all sessions you deliver. If you want to get a start in the fitness industry, then this may be the role for you.

Health coaching is an emerging and exciting career opportunity and we will provide you with training in this area.

You will be required to work a varied roster with early mornings, evenings and weekends ( Saturday only)  included. We can be flexible with your  roster and can work around other committments if required, for the right person.

Skills and experience

Yo must have, or be close to completing,  a minimum of certificate 3 in Fitness. However Certificate 4 in Fitness is preferred. Other skills in fitness, nutrition or coaching will also be beneficial.
